Prayer:- Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a writ of Mandamus directing the Respondent to pay 18 percent per annum interest for the belated payment of terminal benefits from the date of retirement i.e. 31/01/2022 to till he date of actual payment made i.e.01/12/2022 to the petitioner within stipulated time as may be fixed by this Court.

The Writ Petition has been filed seeking to issue a writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to pay 18 percent per annum interest for the belated payment of terminal benefits from the date of retirement i.e. 31.01.2022 till the date of actual payment made i.e.01.12.2022 to the petitioner within the stipulated time as may be fixed by this Court.
2. The case of the petitioner is that he was working as Senior Tradesman in the respondent-Transport Corporation and retired from service on 31.01.2022. However, the terminal benefits have been settled to the petitioner on 01.12.2022 and no interest has been paid for the delayed period.
