The prayer in this Writ Petition is for a mandamus directing the Inspector General of Prison/R1 to consider the representation of petitioner’s mother Sivakumar @ Valaipazha Sivakumar, son of Govinthan, presently confined in Vellore Prison to be transferred to Central Prison, Madurai or Central Prison, Trichy on humanitarian grounds.
2. Mr.Muniyapparaj, learned Additional Public Prosecutor assisted by Mr.M.Sylvester John, learned counsel who accepts notice for the respondents accedes to the receipt of representation dated 04.02.2026.
3. Hence, it would be appropriate for R1 to consider the representation of the petitioner’s mother dated 04.02.2026 and we so direct R1 to consider and pass orders on the aforesaid representation, in accordance with law, within a period of four (4) weeks from today.
4. This Writ Petition is disposed as above.
