ORDER
The present Writ Petition has been filed for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the third respondent to mutate the patta in favour of the petitioner as against the land in SF.No.896/1A1, 896/1A2, 896/1A3 of Villupanur Village in Srivilliputhur Taluk of Virudhunagar District, based on the petitioner's representation dated 01.04.2026.
2. The petitioner claims right over the lands in Survey Field Nos. 896/1A1, 896/1A2, 896/1A3, 896/1A4, and 896/1A5. Originally, the lands belonged to Krishnan (S/o. Perumal), Perumal (S/o. Chitiram), Govindan (S/o. Muttaiyaj), Marimuthu (S/o. Mariyappan), and Shanmugavel (S/o. Marimuthu), who were entitled to the property. Subsequently, all the above persons alienated the said properties in favour of Thangamurugan (S/o. Rakkappapillai) through a registered sale deed vide Document No. 2720 of 2005, dated 18.05.2005. Thereafter, the revenue records were mutated, and patta stands in the name of Thangamurugan. The said Thangamurugan, in turn, sold the property in favour of one Maruthupandiyan (S/o. Karuppaiah) through registered sale deed vide Document No. 3272 of 2025 dated 12.05.2025. Subsequently, a portion of the land that is the subject mentioned land was settled by said Maruthupandiyan in favour of his father, Karuppaiah through a registered deed vide Document No.3937 of 2025 dated 09.06.2026. Thereafter, Karuppaiah sold the subject land to the petitioner, to an extent of 73 cents, through a registered sale deed vide Document No.8019 of 2025, dated 24.11.2025. The petitioner has become the absolute owner of the property and is in possession and enjoyment of the same. The patta still stands in the name of the petitioner’s vendor, namely Thangamurugan and the respondents have not issued any patta in favour of the petitioner. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed.
3. In view of the above, the third respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's representation dated 01.04.2026 and pass appropriate orders, after verifying the records stated supra. The said exercise shall be completed within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
4. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
