ORDER
The petitioner seeks a direction to respondents 1 and 2 to permit him to write the examinations in respect of arrears in six papers in the ensuing examinations commencing from 08.05.2026 for the five-year LL.B. course.
2.The petitioner joined the five-year LL.B. course in 2018. As per the Regulations of the University, the petitioner was required to complete the course in the year 2025. The Regulations provide that ordinarily no student shall be granted time beyond the extended period of two years. However, in exceptional circumstances, and based on the merits of each case, the University may permit a student one additional year for completion of the programme.
3.The petitioner submitted an application to the University explaining the reasons for his inability to complete the course within the extended period, namely, by the year 2025.
4.The learned counsel appearing for respondents 1 and 2 placed on record a communication dated 28.04.2026 issued by Tamil
