The petitioners are the President, Mutavali and a member of mosque/Wakf in the name of Masjid-E-Azam functioning at Vaniyambadi in Tiruppathur District, challenging the proceedings dated 14.08.2025 appointing the Adhoc interim committee consisting of 11 members to manage the affairs of Wakf and the consequential proceedings dated 18.10.2025 and proceedings dated 10.03.2026 directing the petitioners to hand over the charge of their office to the interim committee.
2. The petitioners claimed that the aforesaid Mosque is classified as Wakf and accordingly, the Committee was selected and appointed by Jamath members for a period of three years based on Wakf Deed. Accordingly, the petitioner and other members consisting of 11 in total were appointed on 08.10.2023 for three years upto 07.10.2026.
