This writ petition has been filed for a direction to the respondents to
provide better treatment to the petitioner's son, who is a life convict,
serving sentence at Central Prison, Trichy.

2. When the writ petition came up for hearing on 30.03.2026, this
Court passed the following order:
When this matter came up for hearing on “
26.03.2026, we directed the learned Additional Public Prosecutor to get the convict examined by a Doctor and to submit a medical report. When the matter was taken up for hearing today, the Medical Certificate along with the report of the CT Scan (Brain) was placed before this Court by the learned Additional Publilc Prosecutor. The CT Scan done on the brain by a Neurologist did not come up with any adverse finding. However, the Assistant Surgeon of the Prison has suggested for a complete Neurological evaluation and Psychiatric test to rule out Somatic Symptom
Disorder (S.S.D).
2. Considering the nature of the grievances expressed by the petitioner and in order to rule out any adverse medical condition, we direct that a complete Neurological evaluation and Psychiatric Test shall be conducted by the Prison Doctor. Apart from conducting necessary test in the spinal cord, since the prisoner is complaining

of vertigo and severe headache.
3. Registry is directed to post this case on
20.04.2026.
3. When the matter was taken up for hearing today, the learned
Additional Public Prosecutor placed the discharge summary given by the
Department of Medicine, Government K.A.P.V. Medical College, Trichy.
4. On carefully going through the Discharge Summary, it is seen that
the proper treatment has been given to the petitioner's son and the petitioner's son is now clinically stable and has been advised to undergo
some medications and for future reference.
5. Recording the above development, this writ petition (Criminal)
stands closed.
