ORDER

The present Writ Petition has been filed for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the official respondents to grant police protection to the petitioner and other villagers during Chithirai Thiruvila festival scheduled from 26.04.2026 to 13.05.2026 in Sri Muthumariamman Temple, Kurichi Village, Pattukottai Taluk, Thanjavur District by following the custom and practice prevalent for the past 100 years based on the petitioner's representation dated 01.05.2026.

2. When the matter was taken up on 06.05.2026, this Court restrained the parties from conducting festival and further posted the case today ie., on 07.05.2026 for the 4th respondent to get instructions.

3. Now, it was brought to the notice of this Court the said Thiagarajan, who is the brother of the petitioner is proposed to carry the said Samy Thookum Karaikarars on 09.05.2026. Therefore, the petitioner shall carry the “Samy Thookum Karaikarars” on the 7th day festival.

4. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
