: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to grant seniority to petitioner at par with those who were selected and appointed in the process of selection for the year 2002-03 as Grade II Police Constable on 1.12.03 in the light of representation made by petitioner dated 7.2.2022 and grant him all consequential service and monetary benefits and grant such other further relief.

ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed for a direction to respondents to grant seniority to petitioner at par with those who were selected and appointed in the process of selection for the year 2002-2003 as Grade II Police Constable on 1.12.03 in the light of representation made by petitioner dated 7.2.2022 and grant him all consequential service and monetary benefits and grant such other further relief.

2. At the outset, learned Special Government Pleader for respondents would submit that they would consider petitioner’s representation dated 07.02.2022 and pass orders, in accordance with law, keeping in view the relevant provision including Section 40 of the Tamil Nadu Government Servants (Conditions of Service) Act, 2016, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court, which was agreed to by the learned counsel for petitioner.

3. In that view of the matter, this court is inclined to dispose of the writ petition with following directions:

i) Respondents shall consider petitioner’s representation dated 07.02.2022 and pass orders, in accordance with law, keeping in view the relevant provision including Section 40 of the Tamil Nadu Government Servants (Conditions of Service) Act, 2016.

ii) The above exercise shall be completed, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of. There will be no order as to costs.
