Heard both sides.
2. The petitioner’s son namely, Gunasekaran @ Udayakumar [Convict No.9053 and PID No.35837], son of Ramar, is undergoing life sentence in the second respondent Prison. He has so far spent 9 years 5 months in prison. The convict prisoner wants to come out on ordinary leave for a period of 28 days. His request was rejected by citing the pendency of the case in Crime No.634 of
2015 on the file of the Attur Police Station.
3. It is brought to our notice that this case has ended in an acquittal and therefore, the reason set out in the impugned order dated 08.04.2026 does not survive. In this view of the matter, the impugned order stands quashed.
4. We direct the respondents to grant twenty eight (28) days ordinary leave for the convict without escort.
5. The writ petition is allowed on the following conditions:~
(a) The convict-prisoner, Gunasekaran @ Udhay
