Heard both sides.
2. The petitioner is a resident of Vedarayam Taluk, Nagapattinam District. He is aggrieved by the proposed location of petition mentioned liquor retail shop. According to him, the shop is situated in a densely populated residential area and is also in close proximity to a temple and educational institutions. The petitioner has submitted a representation dated 18.04.2026 in this regard.
3. We direct the first respondent to dispose of the said representation on merits, in accordance with law, within a period of 8 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Till the petitioner’s objection is disposed of, the shop in question shall not be opened.
4. This Writ Petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petitions are closed.
