Heard both sides.

2. The petitioners suffered an eviction order under Section 6 of the Tamil Nadu Land Encroachment Act, 1905. The petitioners have already filed an appeal before the District Collector on 19.05.2026. Since interim order has not been granted, the petitioners apprehend that they may be dispossessed in the meanwhile. We direct the District Collector to dispose of the petitioners’ appeal as expeditiously as possible. Till the appeal is disposed of, the eviction order shall not be enforced. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
