ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by N.SATHISH KUMAR, J.)
This writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the
third respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 31.01.2026 and to issue fresh community certificate based on the petitioner's father's community as Hindu Maravar (MBC/DNC) by following the GO.Ms.No.8 of the Backward Classes, Most Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare (BCC) Department, dated 09.12.2021,
within a time frame.
2.The case of the petitioner is that he belonged to the Hindu
Maravar (MBC/DNC) community and his father, who belonged to the Hindu Maravar community, married the petitioner’s mother, Pappammal, who belongs to the Hindu Kuyavar community, and thus the petitioner was born to parents belonging to two different communities. According to the petitioner, due to the illiteracy of his mother, his community

##PAGE3##certificate was obtained during his minority showing his community as Hindu Kuyavar based on his mother’s community. Being the child of parents belonging to different communities, he is entitled to choose either of the communities of his parents and that, in view of G.O.Ms.No.08, Backward Classes, Most Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare (BCC) Department, dated 09.12.2021, he is entitled to claim and obtain community status as Hindu Maravar (MBC/DNC), belonging to his father’s community. Therefore, he submitted a detailed representation dated 31.01.2026 to the respondents to issue a fresh community certificate based on the petitioner's father's community as Hindu Maravar (MBC/DNC) by following the GO.Ms.No.8 of the Backward Classes, Most Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare (BCC) Department, dated 09.12.2021. Since no action has been taken on the petitioner's
representation, he has filed the present writ petition.
3.The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for
respondents submitted that the representation of the petitioner would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed on merits and in
accordance with law, within the time stipulated by this Court.

##PAGE4##4.In view of the above, this Court, without going into the
merits of the claim made by the petitioner, directs the authority concerned to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 31.01.2026 and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, after affording due opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner as well as any other interested parties. Such exercise shall be completed within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this
order.
5.With the above directions, this Writ Petition stands disposed
of. No costs.
