Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 27.03.2026 seeking permission to cut and remove dry and unproductive palm trees in the petitioner's patta land comprised in S.Nos.243/13A, 243/13B and 243/12B, situated at Keeranthai Village, Kadaladi Taluk, Ramanathapuram District, within a time frame fixed by this Court.
ORDER
The prayer in the writ petition is to dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 27.03.2026.
2. Upon hearing the learned counsel for the petitioner and considering the material records of the case, the prayer of the petitioner is to grant permission to cut and remove dry and unproductive palm trees in the petitioner's patta land in S.Nos.243/13A, 243/13B and 243/12B, situated at Keeranthai Village, Kadaladi Taluk, Ramanathapuram District.

When the matter came up for admission, the learned Government Standing Counsel would submit that the Rules had been framed by the Government in G.O.Ms.No.238, dated 12.09.2025 and the petitioner has to make an online application through Ulavan App and upon the application is made, the concerned committee will consider the same and grant permission, if eligible, in accordance with law.
4. In view thereof, this writ petition is disposed of on the following terms:
(i) Within two weeks from the date of receipt of a web copy of the order, the petitioner shall make an online application in accordance with G.O.Ms.No.238, dated 12.09.2025;
(ii) Upon the application is made, the same shall be considered and disposed of by the appropriate authority within a period of one month there from.
(iii) No costs.
