PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, to direct the 1st and 2nd respondents to provide electricity service connection to the petitioner’s house situated in old Survey No.260/14B, New Survey No.N260-14, based on the petitioner’s application dated 27.02.2026 within a time frame fixed by this Court.

The petitioner is before this Court seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents 1 and 2 to provide electricity service connection to the petitioner's house situated in Survey No.260/14B, New Survey No.N260-14, Sithannavasal Village, Illupur Taluk, Pudukottai District, pursuant to his application, dated 27.02.2026.
2.The petitioner states that he is the absolute owner of the said land and patta has also been issued in his favour. However, the second respondent has not proceeded with the application submitted by the petitioner for providing electricity service connection to the subject property.
3.Mr. M. Viji, learned counsel appearing for the respondents 1 and 2, on instructions, submitted that the petitioner’s application dated 27.02.2026 would be considered and disposed of by the second respondent on its own merits within such time as may be stipulated by this Court. The said submission is placed on record.
4.In view of the above submission, the writ petition stands disposed of with a direction to the second respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner’s application dated 27.02.2026, on its own merits and in accordance with law, and pass appropriate orders.
5.The aforesaid exercise shall be completed within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6.There shall be no order as to costs.
