Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a writ of mandamus directing the first respondent to appoint the petitioner in any suitable post on compassionate grounds in Tamil Nadu Fire and Rescue Services Department with all monetary and service benefits based on her application dated 17.08.2023 within a stipulated time as fixed by this Court.

O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed seeking a writ of mandamus directing the first respondent to appoint the petitioner in any suitable post on compassionate grounds in the Tamil Nadu Fire and Rescue Services Department with all monetary and service benefits based on her application dated 17.08.2023 within a time frame as fixed by this Court.

2. This matter earlier came up for consideration on 02.07.2026 and this Court, having taken note of the facts and circumstances of the case on hand, specifically directed the learned counsel for the Government of Tamil Nadu appearing for the respondents to get instructions as to why the application submitted by the petitioner seeking compassionate appointment is not being processed by the respondents.

Today, when the matter is taken up for further consideration, Mrs.K.Porkodi, learned counsel for the Government of Tamil Nadu, on instructions, submitted that the request of the petitioner has been considered by the respondents and accordingly, her name is already uploaded in the portal relating to compassionate appointments and her case will be considered for appointment on compassionate grounds in the seniority of the candidates for compassionate appointments, without insisting for any no objection certificate from her mother-in-law, as and when her turn comes up for consideration, vide her application No.CGA20260100115.

4. In the light of the above, the relief sought in this writ petition has become infructuous. Accordingly, by placing on record the above submission of the learned counsel for the Government of Tamil Nadu appearing for the respondents, this writ petition is closed. No costs.
