2026 Supreme(Online)(Mad) 64020
IN THE HIGH COURT OF JUDICATURE AT MADRAS
K.Kumaresh Babu, J
Karthik Thirunavukarasu – Appellant
Versus
The Registrar of Trade Marks – Respondent
WP(IPD) No. 20 of 2026
For the Appellants/Petitioners: S. Rajeswaran
For the Respondents: S. Sugumar
The court directed the Trademark Registry to consider a representation and process a pending trademark application within a stipulated timeframe of twelve weeks.
Headnote:The petitioner filed a writ petition under Art. 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a direction to the respondents to consider a representation dated 01.06.2026 and process Trademark Application No. 7560961 for the mark “Leadwhiz Business Solution” in Class 35. The court observed that the relief sought was limited in nature. The primary issue was whether the respondent should be directed to process the pending trademark application within a specific timeframe. The court reasoned that without entering into the merits of the claim, the respondent should be directed to consider the representation and process the application. In fine, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
