PRAYER :
Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the Respondents to include Thenur, Ponnamaravathi Taluk, Pudukkottai in the list of places eligible to conduct Jallikattu in Tamil Nadu Gazette and consequently accord permission to conduct Jallikattu on 08.04.2022 during Murugan Temple Poojas and Agnikavadi at Thenur, Ponnamaravathi Taluk, Pudukkottai by considering the Petitioners registered representation dated on 02.04.2022.

Though the matter has been listed under the caption "for dismissal", there is no representation on behalf of the petitioner when the matter is called today. It appears that the petitioner is not interested in prosecuting the writ petition. No useful purpose would be served in keeping the writ petition pending indefinitely.
2. Accordingly, the Writ Petition is dismissed for non-prosecution.
No costs.
