Issues: Whether the writ petition challenging the seniority rules of the Tamil Nadu Elementary Education Subordinate Service has become infructuous.
Prayer:This petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a writ of Declaration, to declare the Rule 9 of the Special Rules for the Tamil Nadu Elementary Education Subordinate Service (Section 48 -A in Volume III of the Tamil Nadu Services Manual, 2016) as illegal and consequently for a direction, directing the respondents to revise the seniority of all the teachers working in Panchayat Union, Municipal and Corporation Schools by adopting a common state wide seniority among the Teachers of Panchayat Union Municipal and Corporation Schools within the time period stipulated by this Court.

Today, when the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners would submit that the matter has now become infructuous and hence, nothing survives for further adjudication.
2. In view of the above, the writ petition stands dismissed as infructuous. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
