PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing respondents 1 to 5 to consider the Petitioners’ representation dated 27.07.2026 and convene a Peace Committee Meeting comprising representatives of both North and South Eechampatti villages, and consequently, direct Respondents 1 to 5 to permit the Petitioners’ and the residents of South Eechampatti to participate equally in the management, rituals, and celebration of the Maha Kumbabishekam scheduled on 13.09.2026 including the preliminary rituals commencing on 30.08.2026 and subsequent annual festivals of Arulmigu Selva Vinayagar, Arulmigu Thanga Panaiyadi Karuppanna Swamy, Arulmigu Valli Devasena Sametha Subramaniya Swamy and Arulmigu Poovayi Ammand Temples with a further direction to the fifth respondent to provide adequate police protection for the peaceful conduct of the deity’s procession (Swamy Purappadu) through the customary streets of South Eechampatti Village.

ORDER

This Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal after hearing the learned counsel for the petitioner, learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondents 1 to 3, learned Special Government Pleader for the fourth respondent and learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) for the fifth respondent, after dispensing with the notice on the respondents 6 to 15, as no adverse orders are proposed to be passed against them.

This Writ Petition is filed for a Mandamus to direct respondents 1 to 5 to consider the petitioners’ representation dated 27.07.2026 and convene a Peace Committee Meeting in respect of the celebration of the Maha Kumbabishekam scheduled on 13.09.2026 including the preliminary rituals commencing on 30.08.2026 and subsequent annual festivals of Arulmigu Selva Vinayagar, Arulmigu Thanga Panaiyadi Karuppanna Swamy, Arulmigu Valli Devasena Sametha Subramaniya Swamy and Arulmigu Poovayi Ammand Temples.

The learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondents 1 to 3 submits that the Peace Committee meeting will be convened between the petitioners and the respondents 6 to 15 in connection with the proposed celebration of Maha Kumbabishekam of the said Temples scheduled to be held on 13.09.2026 on or before 07.09.2026.

4. Recording the same, the respondents 1 to 3 are directed to conduct Peace Committee Meeting as mentioned above on or before 07.09.2026. In any event, the Kumbabishekam shall be conducted in a peaceful manner and therefore, I direct the fifth respondent/Police to ensure that there is no untoward incidents during the Kumbabishekam.

5. This Writ Petition is disposed of, with the above observations. No costs.

W.M.P.(MD) No.19023 of 2026 is allowed. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
