Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India issuing writ of mandamus directing the respondents to forthwith remove all encroachments and illegal constructions in Survey Nos. 9/2, 10/5, 15/5, 19 and 13/20 in Ettikuttapatti Village, Omalur Taluk, Salem District and district the respondents to restore the Odai to its original width and course as per Historical village maps and filed Measurement Book (FMB) revenue records and ensure its free passage for irrigation and groundwater recharge.

ORDER

Writ of mandamus has been instituted to direct the respondents to forthwith remove all encroachments and illegal constructions in Survey Nos. 9/2, 10/5, 15/5, 19 and 13/20 in Ettikuttapatti Village, Omalur Taluk, Salem District and district the respondents to restore the Odai to its original width and course as per Historical village maps and filed Measurement Book (FMB) revenue records and ensure its free passage for irrigation and groundwater recharge.

2. Learned Additional Government Pleader would submit that notice has been already issued to the encroacher on 18.08.2026.

3. Authorities are directed to remove the encroachments already identified by following all further procedure as contemplated under the statutes and rules in force. The said exercise is directed to be completed within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of the order.

4. With the above direction, the present writ petition stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petitions, if any, are closed.
