ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by P. VELMURUGAN J.)
1. The prayer in the writ petition is to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to remove the statue of the E.V.Ramasamy installed at Arulmigu Bramasirakandeeswarar Temple, located at S.No.313/35, Kandiyur, Thiruvaiyar Taluk, Thanjavur District, in light of the recommendation of the Joint Commissioner, HR and CE Department/Third respondent vide proceedings in Na.Ka.no.7150/2026/B3 dated 08.07.2026 within a time frame.
2. The status report filed by the 4th respondent reveals that the statue is installed in the temple land and not in the Government poramboke land. Since the statue is installed in the temple land without obtaining permission either from the temple authority or from the District Collector or from any other competent authority, the 4th respondent / District Collector is directed to remove the said statue safely from the temple land and also place it in some other suitable place within a period of four weeks from today and file a report.
3. With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. The proposed respondent is not a necessary party to be impleaded.
Therefore, WMP(MD)No.19642 of 2026 is closed.
4. List the matter after four weeks for reporting compliance.
