1. Briefly stated factual background of the case is that the complaint/respondent/Manju Kumar (hereinafter referred to as “the respondent”) on 23.11.2013 booked a ticket with the appellant/ respondent/ opposite party/Indian Railways (hereinafter referred to as “the appellant” IRCTCs e-ticketing service for travelling from New Delhi (Hazrat Nizamuddih) to Bangalore on 20.01.2014 in Rajdhani Express, Train No. 22692 (1A), Coach No H-l, PNR No. 2825850279 and paid Rs.6,682.42 towards ticket fare and service tax charge, to attend wedding of her niece scheduled for 23.01.2014. The respondent boarded the train along with cousin sister Veena Kumar and cousin brother A. K. Gupta on 20.01.2014 at 20.50 hours from Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station.
