This is a consum er com plaint in a dispute of a repudiation of a life insurance claim , the assured whereof was the late husband of the com plainant. The claim was repudiated on 12.03.2008, on the ground that the insured at the tim e of filling up the proposal form had m ade false statem ents and had given incorrect '
answers which am ounted to withholding of accurate inform ation, and therefore on account of such non-disclosure and m isrepresentation the claim was not adm issible as on inquiry and investigation it was found that the insured had been a heavy sm oker, was a known diabetic and was also diagnosed with an alcoholic liver disease which was not disclosed in the proposal form .
