With this surge, however, comes a complex web of legal issues and opportunities across every layer of the ecosystem, from national governing bodies and their state associations, to league-franchise relations, franchise-player engagements, and the event-fan interface. This landscape is further shaped by broadcasters, sponsors, digital platforms, training academies, infrastructure operators, and technology partners, each bringing unique legal and commercial considerations.
The need for legal practice with a sports lens has never been greater, as stakeholders - including athletes, sports organisations, federations, sponsors, and media houses - require guidance to navigate the balances and values that are intrinsic to sport and intricacies of sports-related legal frameworks. This course will delve into the unique characteristics of Indian sports law and commerce, with an overview of its development, unique challenges, and emerging issues with a view of equipping students
