ORDER
1. Prayer in this application is to quash order dated 20.03.2021 passed by Respondent No. 1 Taj Trapezium Zone (Prevention and Control) Authority, constituted under Section 3 (3) of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 . By the said order, NHAI has been required to pay compensation of Rs. 6,84,37,500/- for damage to the environment in the course of construction of a stretch of Delhi-Agra section of NH-2 from Km. 20+500 to 200+00 (Length - Km. 179+500) in the State of Uttar Pradesh.
2. According to the impugned order, decision was taken on 10.06.2019 to recover the said amount of compensation from the NHAI in the light of the joint report of the CPCB and State PCB about violation of environmental norms during the widening of Agra - Mathura Highway.
