ORDER
1. The question for consideration is remedial action against illegal mechanical sand mining on the river bed of River Yamuna and construction of a temporary bridge with hume pipes at Shamli, Uttar Pradesh.
2. The matter was considered by this Tribunal earlier in the light of the report of the joint Committee comprising UPPCB and Collector Shamli to the effect that illegal mining was being done. The Tribunal directed remedial action against which the entity carrying on mining approached the Honble Supreme Court by way of appeal. Civil Appeal No. 8535/2019 filed by M/s M.M. Traders against the order of this Tribunal was dismissed by the Honble Supreme Court on 13.11.2019.Vide order dated 28.11.2019, the Tribunal noted the remedial action taken by way of levy of compensation and revocation of Environmental Clearance (EC) which was inadequate. The matter was adjourned for filing further compliance status.
