ORDER
1. Original Application (hereinafter referred to as ‘OA’) has been filed by two applicants namely Yogesh Maini and Jaskirat Singh complaining about placement of solid impermeable interlocking tiles and cement concrete along with permeable/semi permeable perforated tiles around the trees and pavement road sides etc., by local bodies in Municipal limits of Ludhiana in violation of principle of sustainable development and provisions of Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 (hereinafter referred to as ‘EP Act, 1986’) read with Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 ) (hereinafter referred to as ‘Water Act, 1974’). Applicants have said that placement of such tiles that too above road level is against IRC SP: 2013, which results in waterlogging and caused damage to road.
