Sudhansu Kumar Rout – Appellant
Versus
State of Orissa – Respondent
BLAPL No.7367 of 2025 | BLAPL No.7571 of 2025 | BLAPL No.7680 of 2025
For the Appellants/Petitioners: Mr. A.K. Raut, Mr. S.K. Zafarulla
For the Respondents: Mr. A. Pradhan
The court determined bail eligibility based on the presumption of innocence and the absence of substantial criminal antecedents.
Headnote:The application under Section 483 of the BNS was filed by the petitioners seeking bail in connection with Jharsuguda PS Case No.216 of 2025 for serious offences of preparing to commit dacoity. The court, considering the nature and gravity of the offence along with the petitioners' incarceration since 09.06.2025 with minimal prior offences, allowed bail without commenting on the merits. The primary question was whether the circumstances justified bail. The court concluded by granting bail on specified conditions, thus allowing the applications.
