1. Present appeal has been filed by the appellant, under Section 14-A of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, against impugned order dated 28.07.2025 passed by learned Additional Sessions Judge. Ludhiana, whereby application for anticipatory bail i.e. BA/6521/2025 filed by the appellant under section 438 Cr.P.C., was dismissed.
2. On 12.08.2025, this Court passed the following order:
“Present appeal has been filed by the appellant, under Section 14-A of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, against impugned order dated 28.07.2025 passed by learned Additional Sessions Judge. Ludhiana, whereby application for anticipatory bail i.e. BA/6521/2025 filed by the appellant under section 438 Cr.P.C., was dismissed.
2. Learned counsel for the appellant, inter alia, contends, that FIR in the present case was registered at the instance of the complainant, namely, Bhajan Singh, against three accused persons, namely, (1) Param Walia, (2) Ram Singh, and (3) Parminder Singh Mani.
3. It is submitted that dispute primarily pertains to a monetary transaction, which has already been amicably resolved, as the amount of Rs.2,05,000/- has been duly paid back to the complainant. Furthermore, counsel for the appellant argues that provisions of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, are not applicable to the appellant, as he himself belongs to the Scheduled Castes community. In contrast, the other accused, namely, Param Walia and Ram Singh, belong to the General category. Moreover, appellant is ready to join the investigation and fully cooperate, if protected from arrest by this Court. Thus, prays for grant of concession of anticipatory bail to the appellant in the present case.

5. On advance notice, Mr. Manjinder Singh Bhullar, DAG. Punjab, puts in appearance on behalf of the respondent State, and seeks some time to file status report in the matter.
6. Adjourned to 12.11.2025.
7. In the meanwhile, the appellant is directed to join the investigation as and when required to do so by the Investigating Agency. In the event of his arrest, the appellant shall be released on ad-interim bail, subject to his furnishing bail bonds to the satisfaction of the Arresting Officer. The appellant shall also be abide by all the conditions laid down under Section 482(2) of BNSS, 2023 (earlier Section 438(2) Cr.P.C.).
8. Besides, it is directed that appellant would hand over his passport to the Investigating Agency or to Court concerned, if he possesses. Otherwise, would submit an affidavit, disclosing the fact that he does not possess any passport.
It is also directed that before leaving country any time during trial, appellant would seek prior permission of the Court.”

Continuing his submissions, learned counsel for the appellant contends that in compliance of the order dated 12.08.2025, passed by this Court, appellant has joined the investigation, and has fully co-operated. Therefore, he prays for confirmation of the said interim anticipatory bail order. 4. Learned State counsel on instructions from ASI Sohan Singh, confirms the said averment made by counsel for the appellant of joining the investigation on 01.09.2025 by the appellant, and submits that as of now, custodial interrogation of the appellant is not required for the purpose of investigation.

6. Since, appellant has already joined the investigation and custodial interrogation is no more required; ad-interim bail order dated 12.08.2025, passed by this Court is hereby made absolute. Accordingly, present appeal is allowed.
