1. This revision petition has been filed by the petitioner/defendant challenging the order dated 01.10.2025 passed by the learned Civil Judge (Junior Division), Ludhiana, whereby the application filed by the petitioner under Order 11 Rule 1 CPC seeking leave to deliver interrogatories to the plaintiff was dismissed. The trial Court has observed that interrogatories under Order 11 Rule 1 are part of the pre-trial discovery mechanism and are ordinarily resorted to prior to the commencement of evidence. Since the suit had already proceeded to the stage of plaintiff’s evidence, the Court held that allowing interrogatories at this stage would not be proper, particularly when the questions sought to be put could be asked during cross-examination.
