1. The petitioner has filed the present petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for quashing the order dated 21.01.2025 (Annexure P-1) passed by respondent No.2, whereby his request for grant of parole has been declined on the basis of an adverse report submitted by the Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana.
2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner was implicated in FIR No.77 dated 18.02.2021 registered under Section 22 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 at Police Station Division No.5, District Ludhiana. He further submits that the petitioner was convicted by the learned trial Court and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 12 years vide judgment dated 12.03.2024.
