1. This petition for grant of anticipatory bail has been filed by petitioner, a co-accused in case bearing FIR No.255 dated 08.05.2023, registered against him at Police Station Industrial Sector 29, District Panipat, for the commission of offences punishable u/s 61(1)(A) of Punjab Excise Act, 1914 (Haryana Amendment Bill, 2020).

2. Fresh Status Report dated 09/26.01.2026 by way of affidavit of Mr. Suresh Kumar, Deputy Superintendent of Polie, Traffic, Panipat, filed on behalf of respondent-State has already been placed on record. In para 4 thereof, the factum of petitioner having joined the investigation has been mentioned. In para 5, it has been pointed out that now the custodial interrogation of petitioner is not needed. The fact that petitioner is not involved in any other case and has clean antecedents stands mentioned in para 8 of the said report.
