The prayer in the instant criminal writ petition filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus for directions to official respondent(s) to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners at the hands of respondents No.4 to 9 and to restrict them so as not to harass the petitioners.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioners contended that both the petitioners are major and have solemnized the marriage on 01.02.2026; they have apprehension of threat to their life and liberty, from the hands of private respondents i.e. respondents No.4 to 9. Learned counsel has submitted that the petitioners have moved representation dated 01.02.2026 (Annexure P-5) to respondent No.2- Senior Superintendent of Police, Chandigarh, seeking police protection, howe
