1. For the commission of offence punishable under Sections 279, 337, 338, 304-A and 427 of Indian Penal Code and Section 181 of Motor Vehicle Act, the FIR No.43 dated 01.12.2020 was lodged in Police Station Fatehgarh Panjtoor, District Moga. Once the FIR was lodged, the investigation was taken up by the police, and as an outcome of abovesaid investigation, the petitioner was sent to face trial before the Court of learned Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Moga, hereinafter being referred to as ‘trial Court’ only.

2. The petitioner participated in the abovementioned trial, which by virtue of judgment dated 13.03.2023 culminated into his conviction.

Thus, by virtue of order on quantum of sentence, on the same day, the petitioner was awarded following sentences:-
