1. On the last date of hearing, following order was passed:-
“Learned counsel for the appellant submits that he has instructions from the appellant that the examination of the respondent qua the subject concerned will be taken either in the last week of February or in the first week of March, when the examination of some other candidates who could not appear in the examination conducted earlier therein due to sports events etc. are to be conducted.
Notice of this appeal be issued to respondent No. 1 for 10.02.2026 only qua the aspect that whether, the respondent is willing to accept the said offer being offered by the Panjab University or not.
Dasti only.
Keeping in view the above, as the time granted by the learned single Judge to the appellant to conduct the examination has come to an end today i.e. 31.01.2026, therefore, till the next date of hearing the direction to hold the examination of the respondent by 31.01.2026 is kept in abeyance.
In case, respondent is not served by the adjourned date, appropriate order will be passed in appeal on the next date of hearing.”
2. Respondent No.1 submits that as the appellant-University is ready to take the examination in the first week of March, 2026 of respondent No.1, as directed by the learned Single Judge in the first week of March, 2026, when the examination of some other candidates, who could not appear in the examination due to the sports events etc., are to be conducted, she be also allowed to appear in the said examination.
3. Keeping in view the fact that process to conduct the final examination is already delayed, the appellant Panjab University is requested to declare the result of such examination qua respondent No.1 as soon as possible, preferably within a period of eight weeks from the date of the examination.
4. Disposed of accordingly.
5. Pending applications, if any, also stand disposed of.
