1. In the present writ petition, the petitioner is praying for issuance of a writ in the nature of Mandamus directing the respondents to issue appointment letter to the petitioner on the post of Constable against Sports Quota under S.C. Category in Punjab Police, which are published vide Advertisement dated 23.11.2016 (Annexure P-1) instead of Punjab Armed Police, which was given to the petitioner vide order dated 22.10.2020 (Annexure P-15).

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits that although the petitioner was offered appointment in Punjab Armed Police vide order dated 22.10.2020 (Annexure P-15), however, the petitioner is entitled to be appointed on the post of Constable in Punjab Police. He submits that in light of the order dated 26.05.2020 (Annexure P-16) passed by this Court in CWP-10125-2017 titled as Rajinder Singh Vs. State of Punjab and others,
