Brief facts of the case relevant for the purpose of disposal of the present petition are that on 12.09.2024, co-accused Vikramjeet Singh was apprehended by a police party and recovery of 513 grams of heroin was effected from his conscious possession. Since he could not produce any valid license or permit to keep in his possession the recovered contraband, he was formally arrested at the spot.
