1. Prayer in the present petition filed under Section 482 of BNSS, is for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioners, in case FIR No. 74 dated 01.7.2025, under Sections 108 and 3(5) of BNS, registered at Police Station
Banga, District SBS Nagar.
2. Vide order dated 05.3.2026, the petitioner was directed to join
investigation. The said order is reproduced hereinafter:-
“x x x x On 20.8.2025, the following order was passed by the Co-
ordinate Bench of this Court:-
“x x x x Learned Senior counsel for petitioners pointed out that
petitioners- Satnam Singh and Parminder Kaur are father-in-law and mother-in-law of deceased victim. Learned Senior Counsel denied the allegations detailed in the FIR. It is pointed out that when the unfortunate incident took place and people had gathered there, the victim was asked as to what has happened to her and in the video clipping in pendrive (Annexure P-2), the

2. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners are ready to join investigation and cooperate. In support of her submissions, learned counsel places reliance on the judgment passed by the Apex Court in Criminal Appeal No. 1388 of 2014 titled as Patel Babubhai Manohardas and others versus State of Gujarat passed by this Court decided on 05.3.2025 and the judgments passed by this Court in (i) Harbhajan Sandhu versus State of Punjab and another 2022(2) RCR (Criminal) 317 (ii) Bachittar Singh versus State of Punjab passed in CRM-M-21562- 2024 decided on 08.5.2024 and (iii) Gopal Krishan Chawla versus
State of Haryana 2021(2) Law Herald 943.
3. Per contra, the learned State counsel as well as the learned counsel for the complainant oppose the present petition. They state that specific allegations have been levelled against all the accused that they used to harass the deceased on account of demand of dowry due to which she committed suicide by consuming poison. Learned State counsel submits that as per the post-mortem report, there was no injury on the person of the deceased. However, as per report of the chemical examiner concerned, the cause of death was due to consumption of aluminum phosphide. With regard to the contents of the pen-drive concerned, it is submitted upon specific query that the video clipping containing in the said pen-drive has been duly verified wherein the deceased had stated that nobody is to be blamed for her death. Yet, it is prayed that keeping in view
gravity of offences, the present petition be dismissed.
