VINOD S. BHARDWAJ, J. (Oral)

Raising identical issues, both the instant writ petitions have been filed. The same are being disposed of by a common order. A brief reference of the facts for disposal of the cases are extracted from CWP-717-

2025 titled as ‘Vikas Kumar Vs. Union of India and others’.

The petitioner has approached this Court for seeking directions to the respondents to complete the verification process and to issue the appointment letter to the petitioner for the post of Constable (GD) in the Central Armed Police Forces, SSF, Rifles Man (GD) in Assam Rifles and Sepoy in Narcotics Control Bureau Examination, 2022.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner contends that the petitioner belongs to the Scheduled Caste Category and had applied for the post of Constable (GD) in the Central Armed Police Forces, SSF, Rifles Man (GD) in Assam Rifles and Sepoy in Narcotics Control Bureau Examination, 2022. The petitioner fulfilled the criteria laid-down under the advertisement for the said post and being eligible applied for the same. He participated in the selection process including the written examination followed by the physical efficiency test. The candidature of the petitioner was processed by the Staff Selection Commission. The petitioner thereafter received a copy of e-admission certificate for appearing in the written examination. The petitioner appeared against Roll No.1402043274 and cleared the written examination. He received an e-admit card from the Directorate General CRPF Recruitment Branch for the physical efficiency test which was also cleared. The petitioner also appeared for the medical examination on 19.07.2023 at BSF Composite Hospital, Jalandhar and no defect/deficiency or short-coming was found. He contends that despite completion of all the formalities, the appointment letter has not been issued, hence, the present writ petition has been filed.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondent-UOI contends that the process of verification of the document of the petitioner is undergoing and that the said process shall be concluded within a period of 08 weeks from today and if the verification report support the claim of the petitioner, further action shall be taken in accordance with law.

In view of the aforesaid statement made by the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondent-UOI about completion of the verification process in a time-bound manner and within a period of 08 weeks and of the subsequent action to be taken in accordance with law, learned counsel for the petitioner contends that the present writ petition has been rendered infructuous.

Disposed of accordingly.

The respondents shall, however, be bound by the statement made today in the Court pertaining to completion of verification process in a time-bound manner and within 08 weeks and for taking appropriate action thereafter.
