This is a petition under Section 528 of BNSS, 2023 for quashing of the FIR No.0085 dated 18.10.2023 (Annexure P-1) registered under Section 174-A IPC, 1860 at Police Station North, Chandigarh which was registered consequent to the order dated 14.05.2019 passed by the Judicial Magistrate, 1st Class, Chandigarh declaring the petitioner as proclaimed person in a complaint case under Section

138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881.

The brief facts of the case are that in discharge of his legal liability, the petitioner/accused issued a cheque No.272915 dated 25.03.2017 for an amount of Rs.2,53,432/- in favour of complainant. The said cheque came to be dishonoured. Pursuant thereto, as no payment was made in lieu of the dishonoured cheque, a complaint under Section 138 of Negotiable Instrume
