1. This is a petition under Section 12 of the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971 for initiation of proceedings against the respondents for violation of the order dated 19.12.2024 passed in CRWP-12156-2024 titled ‘Tejbir Singh Deol vs. State of Punjab & Ors.’.

2. The operative portion of the order dated 19.12.2024 passed in CRWP-12156-2024 reads as under:

“4. I have considered the aforesaid factual position. As per order dated 11.12.2023 passed in CRWP No.11701 of 2022 by the Coordinate Bench (Annexure P-2), direction is already given to the State authorities to protect life and liberty of petitioner and his family members, considering threat perception. Therefore, official respondents No.2 to 4 are bound to consider the representations in the light of aforesaid direction.”

3. Similar petition being CRWP-11701-2022 was filed by the petitioner, which was disposed off vide order dated 11.12.2023 operative portion of which reads as under :

“4. In light of the above, the present petition is dismissed at this stage without commenting upon the merits of the case.

5. However, liberty is granted to the petitioner to approach the competent authorities of the State, in case, any threat perception, as detailed out in the present petition, arises again in future, which shall be looked into in accordance with law.”

4. Compliance report dated 31.03.2025 was filed by way of affidavit of Sh. Bhupinder Singh, PPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, Ferozepur wherein it was stated that during the course of enquiry the petitioner was also joined in the enquiry and his statement was recorded. It was found that one Jagbir Singh father of the petitioner has a land dispute with Ranbir Singh son of Bhupinder Singh and Gulab Singh son of Pritam Singh etc. of his village. Due to the said land dispute, cases have been filed in various Courts. It has further been observed in the report dated 07.03.2025 that the petitioner does not seem to be in any danger from any person and he wants to have a gunman as a status symbol. Vide order dated 28.07.2025 a Co-ordinate Bench of this Court had directed that a copy of the enquiry report be also placed on the record. Today yet another affidavit of Sh. Bhupinder Singh, PPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, Ferozepur has been filed placing on record the enquiry report dated 20.01.2025 wherein it has been stated that the petitioner only wants a gunman as a status symbol and there is no threat perception.

5. In view of the status report, no further orders are required to be passed in the present petition and the same is disposed off. Rule stands discharged. Pending applications, if any, also stand disposed off.
