This is a petition under Section 528 of BNSS is for quashing of the FIR No.1272 dated 17.12.2019 registered under Section 174-A IPC at Police Station Karnal Sadar, District Karnal which was registered consequent to the order 20.09.2019 (Annexure P-2) passed by the Judicial Magistrate, 1^st Class, Karnal declaring the petitioner as proclaimed person in a complaint case under Section

138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881.

The brief facts of the case are that in discharge of his legal liability, the petitioner/accused issued a cheque No.000017 dated 03.10.2018 for an amount of Rs.2,00,000/- in favour of complainant. The said cheque came to be dishonoured. Pursuant thereto, as no payment was made in lieu of the dishonoured cheque, a complaint under Section 138 of Negotiable Instruments Act came to be instituted against the petitioner/accused and he was summoned
