1. Petitioner Amit Goyal has filed instant petition under Section 482 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 for grant of anticipatory bail in FIR No.70 dated 31.07.2024 (Annexure P-1) under Sections 406, 498-A of IPC registered at Women Police Station, District Jalandhar.

As per facts of the case, complainant Manpreet Kaur @ Manpreet Goyal filed written complaint against her husband Amit Goyal and other members of in-laws’ family for maltreatment on account of demand of dowry. It is submitted that her marriage was solemnized on 28.10.2017. Her parents had given gold ornaments, shagun and customary gifts as detailed in the FIR by spending huge money.
