Prayer in the present writ petition field under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is for issuance of writ in the nature of mandamus directing respondent No.2 -Regional Passport Officer, Amritsar, to renew the passport of the petitioner against file no. ASR079376237424 dated 20.03.2024 (Annexure P-1).

1.1 A further prayer has been made for setting aside order dated 03.01.2025 (Annexure P-9) passed by Assistant Passport Officer, R.P.O, Amritsar.
