1. At the outset, the learned counsel for the petitioners has stated that the representation dated 27.10.2025 (Annexure P5) was submitted before the Senior Superintendent of Police, Tarn Taran, but inadvertently, he has not been made party to the writ petition. The learned counsel for the petitioner prays that the Senior Superintendent of Police, Tarn Taran, may be impleaded party as respondent No.6, in the writ petition.

2. In view of above mentioned oral request of learned counsel for the petitioners, the Senior Superintendent of Police, Tarn Taran, is hereby ordered to be impleaded in the present writ petition, as respondent No.6.

3. The instant petition has been filed by the petitioners for directions to the respondents No. 1 to 3 and 6 to protect their life and liberty from the respondents No.4 and 5.

4. The learned counsel representing the petitioners submits that the petitioners have filed the representation dated 27.10.2025 (Annexure P5) before the respondent No.6-Senior Superintendent of Police, Tarn Taran. The learned counsel prays for directions to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Tarn Taran to decide the above-mentioned representation within a stipulated time.

5. Notice of motion to the respondents No.1 to 3 and 6 only.

6. Since advance notice has already been served upon the State, Mr. Eklavya Darshi, Deputy Advocate General, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents No.1 to 3 and 6, and waives service.

7. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that a direction for disposing of the representation of the petitioners (Annexure P5) be given to the respondent No.6-Senior Superintendent of Police, Tarn Taran, and that the instant writ petition be disposed of accordingly.

Keeping in view the aforesaid facts, the present writ petition is hereby disposed of with a direction to the respondent No.6-Senior Superintendent of Police, Tarn Taran, to decide the representation of the petitioner (Annexure P5) by passing a speaking order within a period of 15 days from the date of receipt of copy of instant order. It is further directed that the petitioners shall be provided requisite safety and security to protect their life and liberty, if required. It is however clarified that any observation is not being made by this Court with regard to threat perception to the petitioners or the validity of the relationship of the petitioners. The police authority of District Tarn Taran, Punjab, shall be at liberty to make an independent assessment of the threat perception to the petitioners, and take a decision on the issue of providing adequate security to them.
