1. Prayer in the present petition under Section 528 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 is for quashing of FIR bearing No. 60 dated 21.06.2018 under Sections 420 and 120 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 registered at Police Station Sadar, Sangrur, along with all subsequent proceedings arising therefrom on the basis of compromise dated

20.03.2025 (Annexure P-3).

2. Brief facts of the case are that the respondent-complainant Judge Singh moved an application No. 11866/P dated 30.10.2017 against the petitioners for committing a fraud of Rs.16,00,000/- with him. It was eventually agreed upon between the parties that petitioner No.2-Jaswinder Singh would pay an amount of Rs.12,50,000/- to the complainant in 12 instalments. Accordingly, 12 cheques were handed over by petitioner No.2
