1. Prayer in this petition, filed under Section 482 of the BNSS, 2023 (earlier Section 438 Cr.P.C.), is for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner, who has been booked in a criminal case arising out of FIR No.0066 dated 12.07.2025, under Sections 333, 118(1), 115(2), 303, 190, 193 of BNS (Section 118(2), 305, 109 IPC added later on) at Police Station Kabarwal, District Sri Muktsar Sahib.

2. Complainant – Gurpreet Singh has got lodged the FIR in question alleging therein that on 11.07.2025 his aunt’s son Gurlal Singh s/o Manjit Singh, had come to meet them. At about 12:30 AM, some noise was heard from the backside of the house. Upon waking up, complainant saw that Jugraj Singh @ Jugi armed with Kirpan, Kirandeep Singh @ Kinni armed with Khanda, Harman Singh (Satpal Singh @ Harman – petitioner herein) armed with kirpan, Gurjit Singh armed with kirpan along with 8/10 other persons armed with baseball bat dandas etc., forcefully entered the house of the complainant by breaking the back gate.

Gurjit Singh shouted for teaching lesson to extend help to Harcharan Singh.

(i) Jugraj Singh gave the kirpan blow on the left side of the head of complainant;

(ii) Unidentified person gave baseball bat blow on the back of head of the complainant;

(iii) Kirandeep Singh @ Kinni gave kappa blow on the right elbow of the complainant;

(iv) Gurjit Singh gave kirpan blow on the right hand of the complainant;

(v) Unidentified persons gave baseball bat blow on the left bicep, little toe of right foot and little finger of right hand of the complainant;

(vi) Wife of the complainant, namely, Karamjit Kaur, who intervened to rescue the complainant was also pushed and throw away;

(vii) Harman Singh (Satpal Singh @ Harman – petitioner herein) attacked mother of the complainant with kirpan, however, Gurlal Singh (complainant aunt’s son) immediately came forwarded to rescue her, resultantly, kirpan hit the right cheek of Gurlal Singh;

(viii) Jugraj Singh @ Jaggi gave a kirpan blow on the back side of the head of Gurlal Singh;

(ix) Unidentified persons hit mother of the complainant, namely, Veerpal Kaur, with baseball bat, which hit on the right wrist, due to which, she fell down, and sustained other injuries;

(x) Unidentified person(s) gave baseball bat blow on the right ankle of brother of the complainant, namely, Jagdeep Singh;

(xi) Jugraj Singh gave kirpan blow on the back of head of the complainant’s brother – Jagdeep Singh;

(xii) Unknown person gave baseball bat blow on the right index finger of Jagdeep Singh;

(xiii) Kirandeep Singh @ Kinni gave kirpan blow on the upper lip of Jagdeep Singh;

Thus, as per FIR, petitioner/accused – Satpal Singh @ Harman gave kirpan blow on the left cheek of Gurlal Singh.

3. Counsel for the petitioner argues that in the present case, Gurpreet Singh is alleged to have suffered total seven injuries, Jagdeep Singh suffered total four injuries, Veerpal Kaur suffered one injury and Gurlal Singh suffered two injuries.

Further argues that co-accused of the petitioner, namely, Gurpartap Singh @ Gori, has already been granted concession of anticipatory bail vide order dated 16.10.2025, passed in CRM-M-51683-2025 (Annexure P-2).

As per the contention recorded in the earlier bail order qua co-

accused, Gurpartap Singh @ Gori, he was not named in the FIR and the dispute pertains to some payment between the complainant and other co-accused.

4. Notice of motion.

5. On advance notice, Mr. Neeraj Madaan, Sr. DAG Punjab, puts in appearance on behalf of the respondent – State, and prays for time to file status report, if any.

Besides, he also submits that injury on the left cheek of Gurlaljit Singh @ Gurlal Singh, has been opined as ‘sharp and grievous
