and having no objection from learned counsel for the non-applicant/respondents-State the present application is allowed and the main case (CWP-19375-2025) is restored to its original number and status and is taken up for hearing today itself.

CM-18720-CWP-2025:

Prayer in the present application is for placing on record the copy of Judgment dated 03.10.2018 in CWP No.19788 of 1998 as Annexure P-8.

For the reasons mentioned in the application, the same is allowed and the copy of Judgment dated 03.10.2018 in CWP No.19788 of 1998 (Annexure P-8), is taken on record, subject to all just exceptions.

Application is disposed of accordingly.

CWP-19375-2025:

Prayer in the instant civil writ petition filed under Articles 226/227 of Constitution of India inter alia is for issuance of a writ in the nature of Certiorari for setting aside the order dated 05.04.2022 (Annexure P-6) passed by the learned Commissioner, Rupnagar Division, Rupnagar and order dated 07.11.2024 (Annexure P-7) passed by the learned Financial Commissioner (Appeals), Punjab.

2. After arguing for some time, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that he does not press the present writ petition as far the challenge to the order dated 05.04.2022 (Annexure P-6) passed by the learned Commissioner, Rupnagar Division, Rupnagar as well as the order dated 07.11.2024 (Annexure P-7) passed by the learned Financial Commissioner (Appeals), Punjab, is concerned; however, he prays that the time bound directions be issued for decision of the remand case by the learned Collector, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, in pursuance of the order dated 05.04.2022 (Annexure P-6) passed by the learned Commissioner, Rupnagar Division, Rupnagar.

3. At this stage, Mr. Nirmaljit Singh Diwana, Sr. DAG, Punjab, appears on behalf of the respondent-State, in pursuance of the advance copy of paper book having already been supplied to him, and does not oppose the aforesaid course of action.

Keeping in view the submissions made by learned counsel for the respective parties, the present writ petition is dismissed as not pressed, so far as the challenge to the orders passed by the learned Divisional Commissioner and the learned Financial Commissioner, Punjab, is concerned. However, since the matter relating to the appointment of the Lambardar of Village Daryapur Kahlon, Tehsil Nawanshahr, District Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, has remained pending for some time, I deem it appropriate to direct the learned Collector of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar to make an earnest endeavour to decide the remanded case within a period of four months from today, after affording due opportunity of hearing to all concerned parties, in accordance with law.

5. The present writ petition is disposed of in the aforestated terms.

6. All the pending application(s), if any, shall also stand closed.
