1. Present petition has been filed praying for setting aside the impugned order dated 16.03.2026 passed by the learned Additional Sessions Judge, Amritsar in CRA-170 of 16.03.2026 wherein while entertaining the appeal of the petitioner, the learned Appellate Court has directed the petitioner to deposit 20% of the compensation amount awarded by the learned trial Court.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the petitioner was prosecuted in a complaint filed under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act (for short ‘the Act’). She has submitted that the petitioner was convicted by the learned Judicial Magistrate First Class, Amritsar under Section 138 of the Act vide judgment dated 18.02.2026 and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 01 year and was ordered to pay compensation of Rs.24,20,000/- to the complainant vide order dated 18.02.20
