1. The petitioner has invoked the writ jurisdiction of this Court by filing the instant petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking issuance of a writ of certiorari for quashing the action of the selection committee for the post of Assistant Professor, Mathematics, in not recommending the name of the petitioner despite the fact that the petitioner was fulfilling minimum marks prescribed under the criteria and had obtained highest marks amongst the three candidates who had appeared before the selection committee and further direction has been sought to consider the claim of the petitioner for selection and appointment as Assistant Professor, Mathematics, against one post reserved for SC category, with all consequential benefits from the dat
